He is accustomed to having other animals around, including sheep, and is protective of them. Nearly all of the other farm animals have been placed elsewhere, but Nicky is the captain of the sinking ship. While a youngster, a pack of dogs trespassed onto the farm and attacked the animals. Nicky bravely fought them off but lost an ear in the process. He's got a stocky build, long hair (though was sheared this past summer) and needs occasional toenail trimming on soft ground.
