Godman Springs 2004

June 2004 saw a trip to Godman Springs in the Tucannon area of the Blue Mountains of South Eastern Washington State.  The packing pair on this trip are Pepper Corn, and Kate.  This was Kate's first real packing trip.  She handled all obstacles without a problem.  We hiked the Mt. Misery Trail.

A herd of mule deer spent quite a bit of time on the hillside in the background watching the llamas intently.  They were so fascinated by them that my presence didn't bother them.

Kate on the hike to Oregon Butte.

One of the springs in the area, located on the trail below Oregon Butte.  The water flows through the log trough and is clean enough to drink.

Oregon Butte, again looking west.

Oregon Butte, at 6000 feet the highest point in the Tucannon region, looking East.

The Oregon Butte fire lookout station, with the on-duty resident couple.  They've spent their summers here the past 15 years.
