| Llama wool is an excellent insulator and is naturally hypoallergenic. Technically, llama wool is a hair, having a tubular cross-section (medullated core). In contrast, sheep wool is solid (corticated). The result is a fiber with higher insulating properties, greater loft, high strength, yet lighter weight compared to sheep wool. The lack of lanolin in llama wool is the main reason for it's hypoallergenic properties. It is relatively easy to work with, to spin or weave. We often have a number of fleeces available, in various colors, including white, black, gray, buff, gold, and dark brown. Contact us for more information. |
